Krishna and Sudama - Its Cinematic adaptations

Krishna and Sudama - Its Cinematic adaptations

Lord Krishna is another of Vishnu's Avatar who is well known for his childish exploits. There is also an amazing anecdote that describes the friendship between Krishna and Sudama who came from a poor family. Their friendship from childhood spanned a lot of years. After their education was over, Krishna left to Dwarka while Sudama stayed at his village. Time passed and Sudama had been vey poor with his family. Sudama decided to ask someone for help and went to meet Krishna at Dwarka. Krishna on seeing Sudama felt happy and welcomed him to the kingdom. They regaled their stories and Sudama went home only to realise that his thatched hut became a palace and his family became rich.

This anecdote of friendship between Krishna and Sudama spanned a movie adaptation universe in Indian Languages with every story retaining its essence and making a contemporary touch about a Cine Superstar who had an old friend in a barber during his childhood.

Katha Parayumbol was written by Sreenivasan and directed by M. Mohanan. Sreenivasan starred in the lead role alongside Meena, Jagadish, Mukesh and Late Innocent. Mammootty made a cameo appearance as the cine superstar. The music was composed by M. Jayachandran
