It is 2024, Tamil cinema has been going through a brief lull as big star films have not made enough successes. When Ghillie re-released, it was a special day for every thalapathy fan as they were looking at the re-release as a trend to get Kollywood back and running. Post which, Thalapathy Vijay's 68th film GOAT had released.
This was indeed his penultimate film as an actor as he had announced his retirement from the film industry to focus on politics. A lot of us were shocked at the decision that he took at the peak of his career but we had to accept the truth. Some of the fans were not surprised as he had been preparing for his political career by meeting politicians.
Now, as GOAT is doing well in the box office, Thalapathy 69 was announced by a Karnataka based production house, KVN Productions. This has been billed as the last film that Vijay is acting.
It was during the COVID 19 pandemic, Vijay announced that he will release Master on Pongal 2021 in theatres. This was to save the multiplex industry which was on a massive shutdown and had lost business. This decision proved to be the saviour as it released with 50% occupancy.
This showed that Vijay has helped many workers in the film industry such as Welders, assistant managers of production and lightboys as well.
So more than a blog, this is an emotional tribute to the legacy that Vijay leaves behind with his last film going on the floors.
Un Ratham , En Ratham vearum illai. Uthirathai vidaithaayi en anbin sollai.
Thank you Thalapathy Vijay for the entertainment that your films gave. We will forever be obliged for your works.
Love you Thalapathy Vijay
With Nostalgic love
