One-Liner: Michael, the patriarch of Anjooti family faces threats from within his family for his authority in handling its power dynamics.

What happens when Veda Vyasa meets Mario Puzo, we get a mafia style retelling of the Mahabharata in Bheeshma Parvam which I saw 4 years late.

Performance - Mammootty proves time and again why he is still going strong in his 70s. Soubin Shahir is a revelation in pulling off serious roles. Anusaya deserves mention for her performance as a long-suffering wife. Shine Tom Chacko and Farhan Faasil play characters that channel the inner devil within them. Nedumudi Venu and KPAC Lalitha deserve a standing ovation for their performance in their last project. Dileesh Pothan, Sudev Nair, Jinu Joseph and Harish Uthaman along with other artists did a great job.

Technical Wise - Amal Neerad's script and direction bring in an elevation of Mass and style while making a gangster film. The cinematography by Anend C Chandran works well with the visual tone. Vivek Harshan impresses with the cuts. Supreme Sundar's stunts were dangerously well executed. Sushin Shyam; My god. He just delivered a banger of a soundtrack by balancing 80s synth pop with EDM and Epic Orchestra Music. The Rathipushpam song is amazingly well done.

Characters

Michael is similar to Bhishma and Vito Corleone. Molly and Mathai are similar to Dritharashtra and Gandhari. James and Simon are similar to Shakuni. Peter and Paul are similar to Duryodhana and Dushasana. Ajas is similar to Michael Corleone. Varkey Anjooti is similar to Shantanu.

Dialogues -

Shivankutty, Bombaykaara, Jaao ennu Parayanum

Simonacho, Nammaku oru aatma kadi adichaala

Chambiko

Nephewse, Aarukum Moonu rechi.

Chaay onnum kudikkan nikkunilla

IMO - A script that brings mafia into Kurukshetra.

With Love - A teen love story that made me laugh and go back to my school days

Storyline - Sathya, a designer is forced to go for a matchmaking session, and he suddenly meets his junior Monisha. What follows is an exploration into their past love stories and their journey in school.

February is the month of Romance and trust me. I got to catch a love story with my friends in Kovai and watched it in a newly inaugurated theatre. Here's my review.

Performance wise - Abishan Jeevinth has impressed with his lead debut as an actor. His performance shone so higher that we got taken in. Anaswara Rajan brings in a mature performance as a person who helps him rediscover his old love. Saravanan performs like a star. Special Mention to M. Sasikumar and Kamlesh Jagan for their splendid cameos. Other actors did their parts well

Technical Wise - Madhan's directorial debut is a winner. The script and dialogues work well. Cinematography is 10/10. Editing also works. Sean Roldan reminds us that he is the go-to musician for feel good stories with songs like Maranthu Pochu. The humor is well injected.

IMO - The best Valentine's Day Winner
